What type of "block" would I use in Octoblu to take advantage of the HTTP RESTful interface?

I'm using the HTTP RESTful interface with Python and am able to connect and get the list of my devices but I cannot seem to pass messages to the "Generic Device" block I had. I noticed that the JSON response from my devices listed it as the MQTT protocol. What block should I be using if I want to send/receive messages using the HTTP RESTful interface?

Sorry if this is a silly question. I'm a bit of a noob at this.
